Privacy Policy

The Influence Avenue (“I”, “me”, “my”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information I collect through theinfluenceave.com, how I use it, and the choices you have. I’ve written it with the principles of Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) in mind. It’s a plain-language summary of how I handle your information, not legal advice.
Information I collect
I only collect information you choose to give me. When you use the contact form or email me, that may include:
- your name and email address
- your business or brand name
- the services you’re interested in
- anything you include in your message
This website doesn’t ask you to create an account. It doesn’t use analytics or advertising tools, and it doesn’t set any cookies. If that changes, I’ll update this policy.
What happens when you use the contact form
When you press “Send message”, what you entered in the form is sent to FormSubmit, a third-party form service. FormSubmit then:
- emails your message to me at dani@theinfluenceave.com
- sends a confirmation email to the address you entered, so you know your message arrived
Your message then stays in my business email account so I can reply and keep track of our conversation. FormSubmit handles your information under its own terms and privacy policy.
How I use your information
I use the information you send me to:
- reply to your enquiry and discuss your project
- prepare a quote or proposal
- deliver and manage services if we work together
I won’t sell, rent or trade your personal information, and I won’t add you to a mailing list without your permission.
Third-party services
This website relies on a few outside services. Each one handles information under its own privacy policy:
- FormSubmit: delivers contact form messages and sends confirmation emails, as described above.
- Website hosting: the company that hosts this website may automatically receive standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address and browser type.
- Google Fonts: the fonts on this site load from Google, which may receive your IP address and browser details as part of that request.
- Behold: when the Instagram feed is shown on the home page, the post images are loaded from Behold, a service that displays my latest Instagram posts. Behold may receive your IP address and browser details as part of that request.
- Google Drive: free resources open in Google Drive, Docs or Sheets, which are covered by Google’s own privacy policy.
- Instagram, LinkedIn and Pinterest: if you follow links to my social profiles, those platforms’ privacy policies apply.
Some of these services may process information outside Canada, where the laws of that country apply.
Affiliate links
Some links on this website, including the tools in my freelance toolkit, and some free resources, such as my filming setup guide, are affiliate or referral links. If you sign up or buy something through one of them, I may earn a commission or reward at no extra cost to you. The company you visit (for example, Amazon, Rella or Wealthsimple) may use cookies to track that referral, under its own privacy policy.
How long I keep information
I keep enquiry details only as long as needed to respond to you and, if we work together, to manage our working relationship and meet business and tax record-keeping requirements. After that, I delete it.
Keeping it safe
I take reasonable steps to protect your information, like keeping my email account password-protected. No method of sending or storing data online is 100% secure, so please don’t send sensitive information such as passwords or payment details through the contact form.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. You can also withdraw your consent to my using it, subject to any legal requirements. To make a request, email me and I’ll respond within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
